Movies to Watch Out This May - August
Summer kicked off well with a lot of great selections. Avengers soared high on the box office but there are still more superhero movies which are about to be released this June to August. Rom-Coms will be flying high soon and some interesting films will be shown hopefully in our country. So here are some of the movies you have to watch out for as their trailers give a promising show.
1. THE DICTATOR
- Oh how we miss Sacha Baron Cohen. Yep, Borat is back, and though he is into another character, The Dictator might bring a lot of offensive jokes in the silver screen. For this flick, he won't be doing a mockumentary but will have a feature film about a dictator. Do you think, Cohen will still have the balls to play the part?
2. RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION
- I know, the Resident Evil franchise is way too old and the previous movies were just pure stupid. There were no characterization and no advancement of the plot. I hope they do well with this one. And take a lot closer with the trailer and you will see someone very much alive after you saw her die on the first movie.
3. SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN
- Who would have thought that Snow White can be a warrior. and the huntsman could be her prince charming. I really find this film a bit odd but hey, its a fresh idea. I just hope this works fine just like Alice in Wonderland.
4. THE LOVED ONES
- Came across with this film last night, thanks to Yahoo Movies. A story that tells us a lesson that we should not refused a "weird" girl's invitation to the prom. You just might end up with her in a most unusual way.
5. BRAVE
- Pixar's newest 3D Animated film is about a girl who follows her heart and become who she is destined to be. I guess this would be great after the disappointing sequel of Cars last year. Brave is a recycled idea for a plot with a twist... I hope. It seemed that Pixar lost its touch last year, i hope they can prove me wrong this year.
6. BEL AMI
-Robert Pattinson is back in a film set on 19th Century Paris a womanizer banging up somebody else's wife. He is a man-whore in this film which could generate a lot of female audiences. Will they swoon over Robert?
Thiks film stars Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman
7. ROCK OF AGES
- As the trailer said, it is directed by the one who made the movie adaptation of Hairspray, which brings me to a notion that you might see dull song numbers in the film. I hope he improves in this one though. Based on the hit broadway musical, Rock of Ages stars Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, etc. A star studded adaptation that we hope could match up with its stars.
8. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
- the third installment of the dark knight series by Nolan is a sure hit. With Nolan's way of plotting the misunderstood caped crusader and inclusion of anticipated characters such as Bane and the Catwoman, The Dark Knight will end with a blast.
9. SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED
- This film might be one of the most interesting on the list. A group of journalist who is looking for a story about a man who placed an ad in a newspaper saying that he needs someone to go with him to time travel. Will he be able to achieve the feat once more? Will their story be a success? What happens when he time travels? Interesting right?
10. PROMETHEUS
- The feel, the vibe, the title unfolding is like Aliens all over again. Ridley Scott returns to the genre he created. The hype is on and will the movie live up to it? We might know pretty soon.
Summer is indeed here and these are just few of the films to be shown soon in your local cinemas.... What will you be watching?
i saw the loved ones last year. it was so sick ! xD
ReplyDeleteI just saw Snow White and the Huntsman the other night. I'm not up-to-date with movies as I used. I only look forward to high budget films, IMO those are the ones that are worth seeing in the cinema, otherwise I'll just wait for a download. I know, it's bad but it's practical. XD
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for Brave and Dark Knight. :D
